Week 9 Task

This building was used for the official opening of the German section of the exhibition. It is an important building in the history of modern architecture, known for its simple form and its spectacular use of extravagant materials, such as marble, red onyx andtravertine. The same features of minimalism and spectacular can be applied to the prestigious furniture specifically designed for the building, among which the iconic Barcelona chair.


Redin House

Located in a village at the limit of France and Switzerland (Leymen), was one of the earliest works of Herzog & de Meuron, conducted for the art gallery owner Hanspeter Rudin.
At first glance one might say that the shape and external appearance is a very typical home, as we imagined a house in our childhood: the waters of two roof, windows and doors and a great big fireplace. The roof is nothing more than a roof, walls, and both are simple walls forming a single plane where they have perversely doors and windows.

It is a house where the technology meets the architecture to create a universe at the same time simple and complex.
The house in Bordeaux has been designed for a family of parents and three children, but with a purpose.
The client, Jean Francois Lemoine, was paralyzed as a result of an automobile accident and wanted a home that could meet their own needs and at the same time it was a home for the whole family: a solution that combines two parallel lives. The building should not be a house for a disabled person, quite a diverse and amazing universe, a creative scenario in which developed most of his days.

Independant task

Image of exported objects showing matarials being successfully exported. I had a few problems with getting the materials across which was due to the ump mapping figuring out the right dimensions.

Experiment 1 submission

The combination i have used for Experiment 1 is s2. I have incorporated these combinations multiple times into my landscape which can be seen on a macro and micro scale. 

With careful thought i have detailed and placed landscape and structures that build upon the idea of revealing and concealing the combination of my letter and number. I wanted to set the scene for the island to be dark and mysterious and i think with the heavy grey clouds, rain and lightning that it gives it that feel.  

I cafefully detailed the landscape trying to achieve a realistic scene i found myself using alot of the layer painter tool and emphasising lines and contours with dark and lighter colours.

The idea behind the island was to create a bunch of dramatic scenes that depic the characteristics of a dark and mysterious island that has a incredible secret.
