My strategy for this expirement was to effectively show the decay through different stages. I chose to go with the idea of a city being hit by a large storm that effectively made the city non livable and made way for nature to take its path.

Insulation properties of wood
Timber is a natural insulator. Air pockets within its cellular structure make timber a natural barrier to heat and cold. The effects of temperature variation on timber
Strength of timber is affected by temperature. At below freezing
temperatures, strength values for bending and compression, and for
resistance to shock, are slightly higher than for values at normal
temperatures.
Timber Hardness
Hardness refers to the difficulty in sawing, planing, resistance to wear or abrasion and the resistance to indentation.
Wood structure - sapwood and heartwood
The light coloured wood adjacent to the bark is called sapwood, the
darker remainder is heartwood. With time, the sapwood adjacent to the
heartwood is converted into heartwood and the by-products are termed
extractives. Extractives have a marked effect on the properties,
particularly durability.
Colour variation in timber
Most timbers show variation in colour between species and within
species. Colour descriptions usually relate to the heartwood. Finishes,
light and weather all affect colour. Description of wood texture
Timber can be coarse, fine, even or uneven. Texture is dependent on the size and arrangement of the wood cells.
Definition and description of timber density
As applied to timber, density is the mass of wood substance and
moisture enclosed within a piece expressed in kg per cubic metre. Three
main categories of density - green, dry and basic.

I chose this video because i like how it focuses on the landing of the space ship and i think i could do something similar in a part of my trailer to highlight the subject of my movie.
I picked this movie trailer because of the way the music and sound effects intensifies the viewers experience.

This building was used for the official opening of the German section of the exhibition.It is an important building in the history of modern architecture, known for its simple form and its spectacular use of extravagant materials, such as marble, red onyx andtravertine.
The same features of minimalism and spectacular can be applied to the
prestigious furniture specifically designed for the building, among
which the iconic Barcelona chair. Redin House
Located in a village at the limit of France and Switzerland (Leymen),
was one of the earliest works of Herzog & de Meuron, conducted for
the art gallery owner Hanspeter Rudin.
At first glance one might say that the shape and external
appearance is a very typical home, as we imagined a house in our
childhood: the waters of two roof, windows and doors and a great big
fireplace.
The roof is nothing more than a roof, walls, and both are simple walls
forming a single plane where they have perversely doors and windows.

It is a house where the technology meets the architecture to create a universe at the same time simple and complex.
The house in Bordeaux has been designed for a family of parents and three children, but with a purpose.
The client, Jean Francois Lemoine, was paralyzed as a result of
an automobile accident and wanted a home that could meet their own needs
and at the same time it was a home for the whole family: a solution
that combines two parallel lives.
The building should not be a house for a disabled person, quite a
diverse and amazing universe, a creative scenario in which developed
most of his days.
Independant task
Image of exported objects showing matarials being successfully exported. I had a few problems with getting the materials across which was due to the ump mapping figuring out the right dimensions.
The combination i have used for Experiment 1 is s2. I have incorporated these combinations multiple times into my landscape which can be seen on a macro and micro scale. With careful thought i have detailed and placed landscape and structures that build upon the idea of revealing and concealing the combination of my letter and number. I wanted to set the scene for the island to be dark and mysterious and i think with the heavy grey clouds, rain and lightning that it gives it that feel.
I cafefully detailed the landscape trying to achieve a realistic scene i found myself using alot of the layer painter tool and emphasising lines and contours with dark and lighter colours.
The idea behind the island was to create a bunch of dramatic scenes that depic the characteristics of a dark and mysterious island that has a incredible secret.
